Theme parks can be great fun for people of all ages. They offer fun, laughter, thrills, and spills, and Asia is quickly becoming recognised for its variety of excellent theme parks scattered across the continent.
Most of the top theme parks in Asia include a good selection of rides; white knuckle rides, tamer rides for the little ones, water rides, and everything in between. They also have a selection of food and drink outlets, gift shops, shows, and other entertainment. Some have lovely landscaped gardens, great for taking a breather.
Here are some of the best theme parks in Asia:
Tokyo DisneySea, Japan
Tokyo DisneySea offers a slightly more mature experience and atmosphere than other Disney resorts. There are water rides and attractions galore, all in beautiful surroundings. Some of the best rides include the scary Tower of Terror, Aquatopia, and the Journey to the Centre of the Earth – look out for strange creatures! One will still see some Disney favourites wandering around, including the very appropriate Little Mermaid.
Happy Valley, China
There are several Happy Valley theme parks across China, including in Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Shenzen, Dongli, and Chengdu. They are separated into themed zones, with a variety of fun rides and shows.
Fuji-Q Highland, Japan
This is a real record breaker – known for superlatives, this park has some of the fastest, highest, scariest, extremist rides. The magnificent Mount Fuji provides a great background. There are two haunted attractions, including the spine chilling Haunted Hospital. The park interior is fairly plain, with no added thrills – after all, the rides just speak for themselves!
Sentosa Island, Singapore
Sentosa Island is not one theme park, but rather the island houses a collection of different attractions and themed areas. There is a Universal Studios, complete with seven different terrific zones and great movie based rides, the 4D AdventureLand, a thrilling MegaZip Adventure Park to really get the adrenalin pumping, an aquariums, marine life centre, and nature discovery centre, a sky tower, Butterfly Park, a water park, and more. The whole area is awash with fun and frolics, as well as some very pleasant beaches for when the going gets a little too hectic.
Bangkok’s Dreamworld offers a selection of all the usual theme park favourites. A great attraction in steamy Bangkok, however, is Snow Town – with temperatures kept below zero degrees, and visitors given thermal jackets and rubber boots to go and play in the artificial snow, it makes for a really unique place to visit.
Disneyland, Hong Kong
Combining rides, shows, stalls, food and drink vendors, and more, a fabulous day out is guaranteed at this Disney theme park.
Everland, South Korea
Amongst the most popular theme parks across the entire globe, Everland is home to a water park and a zoo as well as the actual theme park. With so much on offer, all will enjoy the rides such as the Dragon Coaster, the Wild River, and the T Express.
