In Ibiza, you’ll never be short on choice for somewhere to enjoy a few sunset cocktails. However if it’s views of Ibiza Town and the iconic Dalt Vila fortress you’re after, there are several Ibiza Town rooftop bars well worth seeking out.
Located on the northern side of the bay of Talamanca, facing back towards Ibiza Town is the Mediterranean restaurant Sa Punta, a popular choice amongst style savvy Ibiza locals. Atop the restaurant however, you’ll find a more laid-back after hours destination in the form of Patchwork. A kaleidoscope of colourful cushions and white-wash furniture, packaged with smooth sounds from the DJ and creative cocktails, this is a great bar to soak up the bohemian meets jet set vibe of Ibiza.
The main calling card of this rooftop bar is it’s westerly aspect, with unspoilt views across the bay and the whole of Ibiza Town and the Harbour, so there is every chance you’ll be spoilt with a spectacular show of colours, city lights and historical silhouettes come sunset. If you feel peckish, check out the Lebanese menu. The food and service are both deserving of their excellent reputation!
Up Ibiza Sky Society, Ushuaia Beach Hotel
If the crowds discourage you from joining the thousands of club goers around Ushuaia’s pool and dancefloor, but you still want to experience some of the luxury this superclub has to offer, then head to the Up Ibiza Sky Society bar, atop the hotel. Looking down to the outdoor club below, you can still enjoy the show but in a more sophisticated and spacious setting.
Prices are high, but so is the quality and from the lofty height, you’ll enjoy spectacular views across Ibiza Town, the sea, Ibiza’s salt pans and the many luxury villas in Ibiza Town.
Tucked atop a rooftop just beside the stone walls of Ibiza Town’s UNESCO Heritage Listed fortress, Dalt Vila, you’ll find a friendly roof top bar called Tira Palla. Located up several flights of tiresome internal stairs, the bar retains a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere despite its coveted inner-city Ibiza location. The music is rockier and more alternative than what you will experience in most Ibiza bars – which for many is one of its charms.
This is a locals favourite and one of the few places in Ibiza Town that isn’t overrun with tourists in peak season. It’s an interesting perspective of Ibiza Town too – being smack bang in the middle amongst the ‘view’ rather than being an onlooker.
